To the Members of the House who sponsored HR 1109

We write this letter in the knowledge that within our inalienable right to free speech, we have the right to condemn, to dissent, and to express.  We believe that dissent and disagreement – as well as anger – is warranted for the events of June 2, 2009, where 170 Representatives sponsored and passed a ruthless, rude, and repugnant resolution that fuels our rage.

On that night, you held a marathon session to pass House Resolution 1109.  The House majority have passed the resolution to set up a constituent assembly to open up the Constitution to changes that endanger Philippine sovereignty, and the rights and liberties, granted to us in this country.  The possibility of “Gloria Forever” haunted a sleeping nation.  The House overstepped its bounds in a claim to power, and to usurp the present decay of political institutions of this nation.

The resolution was rammed through, railroaded, and passed without regard to objection and without respect to the Constitution.  More than an agenda of “Gloria Forever,” it was a slap in the face to the ideals that this nation stands for: enshrined not only in the Constitution, but in the values and mores of Filipino society.  It was a black eye to democracy, to prudence, and to dialogue.

An embarrassment, a farce, and a shame.  A derisive and deliberate attempt to subvert the laws of the land: the very Constitution that you, members of the House, swore to protect when you assumed office.

The Constitution is a defining moment in history.  It is the height of creating a politics of freedom, identity, and national strength, created and ratified on the basis that one’s country is not designed and built on whims, but that of foresight and the common good.  It sets a precedent for justice and fairness, and is the building block of democracy in free nations.

June 2, 2009 was a defining moment in history.  It is the height of a politics of ignominy, imprudence, and insolence; the approval of a shameless and ambiguously-worded resolution that threatens the very existence of this country’s democracy.  One that sets a precedent for injustice, unfairness, and opens the doors for corrupting, unchecked power.  You made a grip on the very throat of this country’s democracy, and choked it.

Shameless.  That resolution will be tested in the Courts, and perhaps maybe even struck out of the record one day.  Forgotten, perhaps, but it should stand – and it will stand – as a testament to shame.

Honorable Representatives, the wisdom of amending the Constitution is not lost on anyone, and it certainly is not lost on us.  Yet without the benefit of prudent dialogue and evaluation, the wisdom of Constitutional amendments – or Charter Change – must be questioned.  When the passage of a resolution that endangers democracy is made possible because of the maneuvering of the majority, the intentions and effects of moves to amend the Constitution must be questioned.  If the integral document of a nation is going to be altered by people of questionable integrity, Constitutional amendments and Charter Change are questionable.

US President Barack Obama has finally took the US. The inauguration was a success and a lot of people gather to join the history. For those who don’t have a time to watch Obama’s inauguration last night here’s the inaugural address:

My fellow citizens:

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors.  I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath.  The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace.  Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms.  At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.

So it has been.  So it must be with this generation of Americans.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood.  Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred.  Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age.  Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered.  Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics.  Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land – a nagging fear that America’s decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real.  They are serious and they are many.  They will not be met easily or in a short span of time.  But know this, America -  they will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

I don’t think so. I found out last day that those traffic enforcers makes traffic more horrible like hell! I think that they didn’t know what they are going, and it pissed me off!

And guess what? they are collecting some fee from the motorists! I know that it’s Christmas season, but hey! its illegal! They cause too much traffic because of that!

Another thing is, the road widening project. I know that it will help motorist. But it seems that most of the residence parked their vehicle along the high-way!

Anyways, I hope that the governement of Imus and Bacoor solve this kind of issue not just striking a pose to the public. You’re there because the poeple think you’re the one who will help them to resolve problem around your area.

Monday,  I woke up early to be able to come in the office 30 minutes before the alloted time-in. But unfortunately, I’ve stucked at the road that seems to be a roadway to hell!

Dasmarinas, cavite - Traffic Congestion

I leave Dasma 15 minutes before 7 Am. But, after a while, the bus stops and never move for about 30 minutes. After that, bus moves a bit, and got stucked again, and run a bit, and stuck and so on, and so forth.. It tooks me about 2 and half hour standing on the bus. I arrived at the office 10:30 AM.

That was a very bad day! Know what? And I’m quite lose my patience! it will be ok for me if I am sitting in the bus, but suddenly, I’m not. haha. My feet are tired that time and I’m not comfortable.

Since I dont have anything to do about traffic, I just take a look on those traffic enforcer (TMG) who manage the traffic (I think they didn’t manage it). 

Anyways, I can’t back time anymore. I am late. It sucks. Tomorrow I will break my record! hahaha

It’s Halloween again and it’s the time for trick or treats. In the Philippines, trick or treating is not really popular here but people knows it. But instead, people in the Philippines during this time is having their own Halloween parties, they have a Halloween parade and/or something. Some, they’re go to the cemetery to visit their departed loved ones and give some prayer.

But mostly, during this time, most of the people is talking about ghost stories and other horrible, out of this world story.

We didn’t know exactly if ghost do really exist but I’m not saying that it didn’t.

To my experience, yes, I had an experience with something terrible before. It was happens when my grandmother died. She was stayed in the viewing room which is on the second floor of the funeral house. Then, the night is gone deeper. It is past midnight when I suddenly felt like I need to pee. Since everybody don’t want to accompany me to the comfort room which is on the first floor right before the morgue. I go down though the stairs. It was a little bit dark and I don’t know where the switch is. So, since my bladder is too full, I badly needed to go to the Cr and didn’t mind what creepy is that place. Finally, I see the door, but when I see the lower part of the door, I see some black thing that flows out from the inside. It is like a smoke, but again, I never mind that one since my bladder is going to blow out anytime. After that I go up to the second floor again and there’s something strange again that happened. I see 3 black shadows that goes up though the stair but I didn’t hear their foot steps. So, I immediately  go up to the room and ask them if know who are those person who just goes up. But unfortunately they didn’t seen anything or someone that goes up before me. I had a goosebumps at that time and I tell them what strange and horrible things happens to me. With that experience, I don’t want to go to any funeral house anymore.

Another experience is, when I was told to cook something in our house there’s something strange that runs on my back. I saw that on my peripheral* vision. Shes an old woman with short white hair and a fair skin. I saw her smelling the food that I am cooking, and I don’t mind her. Again, I asked them who is that person but unfortunately they didn’t notice someone who goes to the kitchen except me.

That was just my few horrible experience throughout my life.

It’s Saturday again and I didn’t know what to do for the whole day.
I started with checking my computer if the downloads is done, eat breakfast, and computer again.

I dont have anything to do besides doing stuff with my computer… I feel that I don’t have any social life today.

After a while, I’m getting bored with this thing. So, I watched 2 movies.

1. Alone
2. Rush Hour 3

Let’s go with the first movie – Alone. Alone is a Thailand based horror/thriller movie. According to IMDB:

“ALONE” tells the story of Pim who moved from Thailand to Korea to escape the guilt of being the surviving half of a conjoined twin. Flashbacks to Pim’s childhood show how the bittersweet relationship with her sister, and their commitment to stay together forever, transforms into a repressive bond that ultimately leads to a separation. After she returns to visit her dying mother, the spirit of her dead sister angrily thrusts herself into Pim’s life.

I’m thrilled with this movie and it’s good to watch. Although the local language used is Thai, you can still easily understand what they were saying just by looking on the scene

Bottom line, that movie is good and deserve to be watched. Watch it and be thrilled.

After Alone, I’ve watch Rush Hour 3 starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. The synopsis of the movie according to IMDB is:

Three years after the end of Rush Hour 2, James Carter is no longer a detective, but a traffic cop on the streets of Los Angeles. Lee is now the bodyguard for his friend Ambassador Han, the former Consul from the first film. Lee is still upset with Carter about an incident in New York City when Carter accidentally but not fatally shot Lee’s ex-girlfriend in the neck, Secret Service agent Isabella Molina.

The story is great as well as the actions and fighting scene and also the movie is very funny. Jackie Chan still as its best.

I recommend this movie to watch. Its worthit.

Fire alarm sounded around the building. A certain floor is got on fire. All elevator has been shut down to secure the employees.. All employees has been evacuated to the outside of the building.  Rescuers found two men stacked to their office and rescued them and rappelled back to the ground floor.

Those was just a drill in case of fire.

A fire drill is a method of practicing the evacuation of a building for a fire or other emergency. Generally, the emergency system (usually an alarm) is activated and the building is evacuated as though a real fire had occurred. Usually, the time it takes to evacuate is measured to ensure that it occurs within a reasonable length of time.

That drill is a good a practice for those of us working in the said building just in case the real fire occurs. We don’t have any abilities to predict what will gonna happen next so it is better to be safe and to know what will be the next step that will save your life or my life too.

After the drill, a certain fire bureau host in Makati perform some tips on how to use fire extinguisher properly. They set a real fire and demonstrate how to make the fire out. After that, they called a volunteer from different companies and executed certain tricks on how to extinguish fire.

Although the drill make us tired and sweaty, it is a good step of the building management to inform how the employees will respond in case of fire and other calamities.

So, until next fire drill.
